Of interest in the Garden today

Obviously the Garden is ever changing, with surprises springing up every day.

So as to make sure you do not miss anything we post news of what we think you will like to see, both on the noticeboard inside of the Walled Garden and also here.

May 2008

The Garden has come to life, the apple tree blossom is just starting to burst forth and there seems to be more blossom than ever before.

The kiwis leaves have sprouted over the last couple of warm days and it is the most suculent green you will find anywhere.

The clematis on the top wall is flowering reliably as it does early every year.

The trailing rosemary (Rosemarinus prostratus officianalis )in the raised planter above the amphitheatre continues to display its stunning blue flowers. On the terrace above this the Berberis x stenophylla is just starting to flower. With its strong gregarious yellow it certainly gives a striking display against the blue flowers of the rosemary.

Photos of the above splendours shall be added soon but are best seen by eye. The Walled Garden is open Mon-Fri 10-4pm and Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from 12-5pm.
