Apple Juice

When?

In 2006 we started a project to make our own Apple Juice here in Shenley Park. We converted a workshop, brought it to envirnomental health standards, purchased the equipment and proceeded to make 3000 bottles of juice in our first year.

What's in it?

The technique we use entails pulping the apples, pressing them, bottling the juice and then pasteurising it. Nothing is added to the juice, it is 100% apple juice. We do not use any chemicals when growing our apples either. Because the juice is pastuerised it has a shelf life of 18 months and can be stored at room temperature. Once opened however you are recommended to keep refridgerated and consume within 2 days.

Where to buy it?

The Juice can be purchased through the Orchard Tea Room, either by the glass or the bottle.

We do make apple juice for other people but we do have very strict guidelines regarding the condition of the apples. There are approximately 9 tennis ball size apples in one 750ml bottle of juice and we require a minimum of 100 bottles for a pasteurisation run so this gives you some idea of how many apples you would need to get your own juice made by us, ie approximately 900 tennis ball size apples!

How?

Can we watch?

We do different types of guided walks here at Shenely Park, we also have school visits. In the autumn we incorporate an Orchard Tour, juice demonstration and tasting. If you would be interested in this for your school or community group please click here.
