We meet at the Chapel (which you can access from Porters Park Drive or use main car park for park and walk up) from 4.30pm.
The Wassail starts at 5pm, we walk down to the orchard with our torches a short way. The chosen tree has lanterns around it so there is some light.
We have a short “ceremony” that involves giving the trees gifts of toast and apple juice and sing a wassail song. We then make as much noise as we can and if successful we will see any “naughty spirits” leaving (some fireworks go off). After that we return to the Chapel for apple and parsnip soup and bread, mulled wine and apple juice and Wassail cake. We suggest a donation of £2 per person to help towards costs. Please drop us an email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are planning on coming so we can make sure we have enough soup and cake.
